Mathematics for English Language Learners
After looking at some of the other sites in class, we realized that this website isn't a great resource for seeing how ELL lessons plans play out in real life. There are a lot of lesson plan options, but there aren't any examples or real life situations that you can see to see how these lesson plans actually work out with students. The lesson plans were not very easy to navigate though. The plans were not divided up into any categories, subject or grade levels. We also talked a lot about the statistics that this website provided us with. The bar graphs helped us see where the struggles occur most with ELLs. We thought that the website was not very up-to-date and possibly not even up and running anymore. The last post was in 2010. This could mean that their information is not very current and/or valid based on current research information. I think that this may be a good place to get ideas, but information from this site would need to be backed up by research or information from a more up-to-date resource. I really enjoying searching through this site, but I feel like many of the other ones that we observed in class were more helpful.
